Medicare Part B premiums are increasing for 2026. The standard monthly premium will be $202.90, up from $185.00 in 2025. This marks an increase of $17.90, or nearly 10 percent, and the first time the Part B premium has topped $200 per month.
The annual Part B deductible is also rising. Beneficiaries will pay $283 in 2026, an increase of $26 from the $257 deductible in 2025. After meeting the deductible, most people will continue to pay 20 percent of the Medicare-approved amount for services like doctor visits, lab work, and outpatient care.
Premiums for Medicare Part B are based on income. While most people will pay the standard $202.90, individuals with annual incomes above $109,000 and couples filing jointly with incomes above $218,000 may pay more due to IRMAA, a Medicare income-related monthly adjustment amount.
Understanding how these cost increases affect your monthly budget is important. Reviewing your benefits and income annually can help you prepare for future adjustments to your Medicare premiums.
